Bring Your Mat. We'll Bring the Puppies.
Kitten Paws and Downward Dogs is hiring certified yoga and fitness instructors to lead joyful puppy yoga events. Flexible schedule, paid per class, and every event helps a local rescue.
Why teach with us
You already know how to hold a room. Now imagine holding it while eight-week-old rescue puppies wander between the mats, curl up on a bolster, and get adopted by the time savasana ends.
That's a Kitten Paws and Downward Dogs class. We produce feel-good, all-levels puppy yoga events at partner studios — public ticketed classes and private bookings for bachelorettes, corporate teams, and celebrations. Every event raises money for a local rescue and puts adoptable puppies in front of people who fall in love on the spot.
Your job is the part you're already great at: leading a warm, accessible, genuinely fun flow. We take care of everything else.
WHAT YOU'D BE DOING
You'll lead a 45–60 minute all-levels class designed for a wide range of bodies, ages, and experience — most attendees are there for the puppies as much as the practice, so the vibe is light, welcoming, and un-intimidating.
A typical event looks like:
Arrive, meet the rescue's team and the litter, and get the room set.
Welcome the group, set an easygoing tone, and lead a gentle, beginner-friendly flow.
Roll with the beautiful chaos — puppies on mats, in laps, and stealing the show.
Close with a calm, grounding savasana (yes, with puppies).
Hand off, celebrate any adoptions, and head out.
You focus on teaching and holding the energy of the room. We handle the puppies, the rescue partnership, ticketing, setup, and cleanup.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We'd love to hear from you if you are:
A certified yoga instructor (RYT-200 or equivalent; we'll ask for your certification).
Confident teaching all-levels, beginner-friendly classes to mixed groups.
Warm, high-energy, and unflappable — comfortable teaching through a little joyful unpredictability.
Reliable and communicative, with your own liability insurance or willingness to carry it.
Genuinely an animal lover who supports rescue and adoption over breeding.
Bonus points for: experience with events, workshops, or large groups; a following you love bringing along; availability on weekends; and comfort teaching in multiple studios around your city.
WHAT YOU GET
Paid per event — paid as a 1099 contractor.
Zero logistics — you don't source puppies, coordinate the rescue, run ticketing, or clean up. You teach.
Flexible, low-commitment schedule — pick up events that fit your calendar. No minimum.
A feel-good portfolio piece — teaching for a cause that's raised over $120,000 for animal rescues.
Built-in audience — our events sell out and draw new students who may follow you back to your regular classes.
Room to grow — instructors who love it can take on more events, new studios, and private bookings.

FAQ
Do I need to bring or provide the puppies? Never. We partner with vetted local rescues who bring vaccinated, adoptable puppies to every event. Sourcing and animal care are entirely on us.
What kind of class am I teaching? An all-levels, beginner-friendly flow, usually 45–60 minutes. The focus is fun, accessibility, and a warm room — not advanced sequencing.
How often will I teach? As often as you'd like. There's no minimum. Some instructors take one event a month; others pick up several. You approve every date.
Where are events held? At partner yoga studios across the metros we serve. We match you to events near you.
How and when do I get paid? You're paid per event as a 1099 contractor. Rate and payment details are covered on your intro call.
Do I need my own insurance? We ask instructors to carry their own liability insurance. If you don't have it yet, we'll point you in the right direction.
I'm not in your city yet — should I still apply? Yes. We're expanding, and we keep a bench of instructors ready as we open new markets.
